Signature talks
Every talk can be delivered as a keynote or expanded into a workshop with implementation time built in.
A grounding keynote on what belonging actually requires beyond statements and celebrations. We examine how everyday structures — grouping, discipline, communication, and who gets asked to lead — signal to students and families whether they are guests or owners in a school, and what leaders can change on Monday.
Keynote · 45–75 min · Whole staff, districts, conferences
A practical working session where teachers redesign assignments they already use. Participants learn to audit tasks for access, relevance, and rigor, then rebuild them so cultural and linguistic assets become a route into standards rather than an add-on unit.
Workshop · 90 min–half day · Teachers, coaches, department teams
Rooted in comprehensible-input research, this session shows how to pitch instruction just beyond a learner's current level — the i+1 zone — so students stretch without drowning. Includes scaffolding sequences, language supports, and how to keep grade-level rigor while differentiating entry points.
Workshop · Half day · Multilingual, literacy, and instructional teams
Schools rarely fail for lack of a mission; they fail because the mission was written without emotional honesty. This session guides staff through building a shared educational philosophy that names fear, history, and disagreement openly — and turns it into commitments people can actually be held to.

A closing-plenary talk on who gets to lead, who gets published, and who gets believed in education — and how systems can widen that circle on purpose. Draws on Equity By Design's areas of inquiry and the UnLearn ReLearn contributor program now being prepared for launch, to show what a broader profession makes possible for students.
