EBD Institute · Professional Credentials

Professional Credentials, not certificates of attendance

Equity By Design Professional Credentials are evidence-informed recognitions for educators, leaders, schools, and districts committed to educational excellence, equity, innovation, and continuous improvement — earned through documented practice, verified against published criteria.

Credential pathways

Six pathways, one standard of evidence

Each pathway states plainly who it is for, what you will develop, how you will learn, what earning it requires, and what it means afterward.

Credential pathway

Equity By Design Certified Educator™

Designed for: Classroom teachers, instructional coaches, counselors, and specialists implementing evidence-informed, equitable practice in daily work with students.

Competencies developed

  • Designing instruction that anticipates variability rather than remediating it
  • Reading classroom data for patterns of access, not just achievement
  • Family partnership practices that are two-way and multilingual by design
  • Documenting and refining practice through structured reflection cycles

The learning experience

A cohort-based experience combining self-paced modules, three live studio sessions, and a classroom implementation cycle with peer feedback. Typically 8–10 weeks, roughly three hours per week.

Renewal & continuing education

Valid three years. Renewal requires 15 hours of continuing professional learning and one updated implementation artifact.

Requirements to earn

  • Complete all required modules and live studio sessions
  • Submit an implementation artifact from your own classroom
  • Complete a reflection cycle documenting change and evidence
  • Peer review of one colleague's implementation artifact

Professional benefits
