Credential pathway
Equity By Design Certified Educator™
Designed for: Classroom teachers, instructional coaches, counselors, and specialists implementing evidence-informed, equitable practice in daily work with students.
Competencies developed
- Designing instruction that anticipates variability rather than remediating it
- Reading classroom data for patterns of access, not just achievement
- Family partnership practices that are two-way and multilingual by design
- Documenting and refining practice through structured reflection cycles
The learning experience
A cohort-based experience combining self-paced modules, three live studio sessions, and a classroom implementation cycle with peer feedback. Typically 8–10 weeks, roughly three hours per week.
Renewal & continuing education
Valid three years. Renewal requires 15 hours of continuing professional learning and one updated implementation artifact.
Requirements to earn
- Complete all required modules and live studio sessions
- Submit an implementation artifact from your own classroom
- Complete a reflection cycle documenting change and evidence
- Peer review of one colleague's implementation artifact

The learning experience
A leadership cohort of 12–18 participants: monthly seminars, confidential coaching, and a system-level improvement project carried through one full cycle. Typically two semesters.
Renewal & continuing education
Valid three years. Renewal requires 20 hours of continuing leadership learning and a brief sustainability report on the original project.
Requirements to earn
- Attend all seminars and coaching sessions
- Design and lead a documented system improvement project
- Present evidence of change to the cohort review panel
- Complete a leadership self-assessment at entry and exit

Valid three years. Renewal requires an annual evidence update and a full evidence review in the renewal year.
Requirements to earn
- Completed schoolwide self-study with supporting artifacts
- 80% of instructional staff complete core professional learning
- Evidence review across the seven certification criteria
- Board- or leadership-approved continuous improvement plan
